The lines of research in Oral Diagnosis, Dental Radiology and Imaginology are:

  • Basic and Applied Research in Neoplastic, Inflammatory and Infectious Diseases and Maxillomandibular Pain
  • Conventional and Digital Methods of Diagnostic Imaging

Infrastructure

The Graduate Program in Oral Diagnosis, Dental Radiology and Imaging utilizes renovated infrastructure in the form of classrooms, rooms for research groups, in addition to the FOUSP Clinic. The program also has a recently inaugurated laboratory with modern facilities for conducting research employing techniques of histology, immunohistochemistry, molecular biology and proteomics. This laboratory is part of a project promoted by the University of São Paulo, which instituted the Research Support Nucleus of Neoplastic and Non-neoplastic of Salivary Gland Diseases (NAP-Saliva). It also has a laboratory for digital imagery research in images, the Laboratory for Analysis and Processing of Images (LAP), with a collection of approximately 4000 images.

International Collaborations

The Graduate Program in Oral Diagnosis, Dental Radiology and Imaging has a strong interface with renowned international institutions. This interaction involves the exchange of professors and students, as well as research projects and publications in partnership. Our partners are King’s College London (England), the University of Okayama (Japan), the University of Aarhus (Denmark), Yale University (United States) and Harvard University (United States). Our international associates collaborate with us in the fields of Oral Diagnosis, Radiology, Pathology and Embryology.

NAP-Saliva

The Research Support Nucleus of Neoplastic and Non-neoplastic of Salivary Gland Diseases (NAP-Saliva) brings together a group of researchers who investigate the various aspects of salivary gland formation, degeneration as well as diseases that affect them.
